Lee’s mother confirmed the news and she did not say the causes of death.
This is a tragic loss for the WWE community, as Lee was a beloved figure both in and out of the ring. She will be remembered for her kind heart and competitive spirit. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends during this difficult time.
Sara Lee was born on July 29, 1987, in St. Louis, Missouri. She began her training to become a professional wrestler in 2009 at the Midwest wrestling school NWA clenching victory over Paige in a 60-minute ironwoman match in April 2010. After bursting onto the scene, Lee quickly made a name for herself in the world of professional wrestling.
In 2015, she signed with WWE and competed in the sixth season of their reality show Tough Enough, which she went on to win. During her time with WWE, Lee was a part of many memorable moments, including a tag team victory alongside Bayley at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. Most recently, she had been competing on the independent circuit.
Lee married WWE performer Cory James Weston. And his ring name is Westin Blake. He is also a well-known wrestler. They have two children.
Cause of Death
The cause of death has not yet been determined; however, it is believed that she may have died from natural causes given her young age. An autopsy is currently being conducted to determine the official cause of death.
